
03 Dec, Patna (Bihar): A state ceremony was held today at the statue site at Rajendra Chowk to mark the 141st birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and India’s first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar paid homage to him by garlanding his statue.
After the garlanding, the Governor and the Chief Minister encouraged the women spinning the charkha of Swadeshi Kambal Ashram by distributing sarees among them.
After this, both the leaders reached the Samadhi site at Rajendra Ghat and paid tribute to Dr. Rajendra Prasad by offering a wreath there.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Health Minister Mangal Pandey, Rural Works Minister Ashok Chaudhary, MLA Shyam Rajak and many other social and political personalities also participated in the birth anniversary programme and paid tribute to the Bharat Ratna.
